"Entwined With Silver (The Red Ribbons Shiver)"
Entwined With Silver (The Red Ribbons Shiver)
And his love she screams into the night As motionlessly he lay beneath her Her distant words call him back from the void, But his body's consumed, swallowed.
Saturated in a comatose dream, He awoke, finding himself asleep upon a burnt red field. Standing above his slumberous home he shed no tears, For upon the violet horizon a castle lay before him.
So in search of this refuge where his spirit can rest, He follows the scarring violet light towards the kingdom, Leaving to the sound of his lovers lightening, thundering through, Pleading for his return, striking him with what he'd lost.
Now six suns shine down upon him, on his journey through this land, Mellow candles hung from the sky, each a light of love for him, As each he knows, each has a face, echoing stories of another place. They're his six memories; his father, his mother, his brothers, his lover.
The castle of sand and stone now looms above him, And upon the scarlet bitten sky and above the Cypress trees, A chariot, towed by silver sharks drifts through the clouds, Swimming serenely through the sweetest air towards him.
Gliding to his side the chariot gracefully stops, Fearful at what will arise from within, his spirit pulls him back. As, emerging from the fiery bronzed carts hatch, A faceless lady of silver, sapphires cascading before her.
Flowing forward her pearly eyes set upon his fearful stare, Her hairs' red ribbons shimmer to the movement of her every step. Standing before him she offers to him a gentle glistening hand, Beckoning him to enter the castle gate of his eternal Empyrean.
But once more, swooping through the flame ridden sky, Appears his lovers voice harrowing a soft cry to him. While on each of the setting suns the makers face emanates. His spirit stares at each, turning last to the silver lady.
Honey tears trickles from her gaze, upon her silver cheek, Knowing her eternal partners chosen to return, leaving her alone. Abandoned as his spirit fades, her lucid utopia crumbles to dust, Her silver body joining with the earth as she waits for Canaan.
His body awakens, entwined in the passion of his lover arms, She turns to face him, gazing in wonder upon his return. And dancing through her sapphire eyes, the silver lady. She's given a face, his lovers, clinging to him, her home.

"A Modern Day Plague"
A Modern Day Plague Aphrodite's girdle of finely wrought gold,
Wove her magic against your soul. Now no mirror will look her in the eye, Their contorted reflections can only lie. But such is glamour amongst the lusts of life, When a Goddess rises to our scarlet pride. The prodigal child that's escaped the heavens,
Has found love, entranced in her reflection. Cursed by her father for the grace she has spoken, She taints her eyes as her vanity's awoken: With every white-pearl earring and diamond necklace, She succumbs to the seeping girdle's bitter taste.
Nowhere to go at the height of her perversion, She's trapped by the flaws of human imperfection. Risen from the ocean of her majestic glory, Her worn, ageing face tells a different story. She clutches the Gods girdle to her chest, waiting alone, For her forsaken father to envelop her and take her home.

Ramble ramble...
Been a while since I wrote on here so I thought I'd have a vain little moment talking about what's been happening lately. Well I got some good news through last week as I'd entered some of my writing into a competition and it reached the semi finals, currently in the running for a $1,000 prize and to top everything off it's being published in a book called "Eternal Portraits" released the winter of next year.
Spent the weekend with Rosie and she took me out to see Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire. Amazing film, visually stunning, wonderfully filmed and the characters have really fallen into their roles. Mike Newell got a great performance out of his cast and it's certainly the best in the series so far and of course having my beautiful girlfriend to watch it with made it all the better.
Anyway need to get back to work on the new fairytale script, that's just been started. The footage from the Carlisle shoot turned out fantastic, beautifully rich and vibrant. Will try and post it up on the web once it's completed. Think I'll post up my 2 latest pieces. Egotistical ramble over.

Where Are The Waves?
Thought I'd post up something fun that I recorded a couple of years ago, sorry for the language in the chorus, my imatureness shines through in these lyrics, but in my defense it was a few year backs I wrote them. Here's the recording and lyrics: Where Are The Waves? (Recording) Verse: The search began, when an old man spoke Of giant waves from a far away coast. Tofino; he whispered for there's your shore, Tofino is where you're looking for.
So over mountains and the sea, We travelled in search of the prophecy. Hours went by but success was here, As we past a sign saying Tofino's near.
We took our boards down to the sand, and stared out at the sea:
Chorus: "Oh fuck, where are the waves" we cried and through the cloudy mist. The old man screamed "I lied, I lied" "There are no waves in Tofino". He Lied!

The Wall
This is one of those films that every time I re-watch it, I can find something new, unravelling even more of Roger Waters' story. The sequence that always captures my attention is looking at how the character Pink (played by Bob Geldoff) deals with losing the person that he is still very much in love with. Rather than the sequence being surrounded by sympathy towards the characters loss, it looks at how he accepts that he could never love her as much as the person that she is with now. One of the truest and most heartfelt forms of love that has ever been portrayed on screen, showing that love is more than being with the person, it's about putting the other persons happiness above yourself. If you truly love someone you'll be happy when you see them happy with or without you and be thankful for the time that you had. Thinking Selflessly as opposed to your own selfish desires shows love in its' truest form. Anyway if you've seen the film let me know what you thought. And now for a update in the life of me, yes this is the vain part where I talk about myself (I'll keep it as short as possible). Spent the Thursday to Sunday at Rosie's, which as always was brilliant, went to see her Dads concert on the Thursday, really well played music. Fireworks at Roundhey on Friday were amazing and being able to cuddle up to a lovely young lady while watching them made it even better. Watched Corpse Bride on the Sat, which lived upto everything I hoped it to be, great music, very dark edge to the concept and intriguing characters. Right now the film shoot in Carlisle this weekend is slowly creeping up, feeling quite prepared and confident that it's going to work, just as long as the weather holds out. Then filming Kit'n Run next week, should really get round to posting the script up but I think I may just wait for the film to be completed and then post that up. Anyway enough of my rambles.
